Financial Statement Analysis with S&P package ReviewThis book is exactly what it is titled. It is written for the equity analyst, to educate on how to analyze sophisticated financial statements. It is not written for an average investor or anyone not in this line of work. It is a textbook, not a paperback "how to invest" publication. Students with minimal accounting and finance experience should stay away. If, however, you are a finance professional looking to improve your ability to interpret (not create) financial statements, this book is the best available that I have seen. It segregates analysis into areas such as short-term liquidity, cash flow (using FAS 95), capital structure, return on investment, asset utilization, operating performance, etc., -and- how to meld these areas of analysis to uncover strengths and red flags. Developing eBay Business Tools For Dummies (For Dummies (Business & Personal Finance)) ReviewA significant proportion of this book is dedicated to producing well presented listings. Easy HTML for ebay does a far better job of covering the same ground. There are also alot of quick tips that are easy to apply (and have been better covered in books such as ebay hacks).
Most of the software packages on the CD are trial versions. Nothing innovative or new is included.
The descriptions of the ebay sandbox and API are very superficial - enough to get you started but little else. The chapter on office development tells you that "serious"
experience is required and little information is availible from the ebay development site and advises the reader to concentrate on PHP - not bad advice but it takes 7 pages to get there.
