New Perspectives on Microsoft Office Excel 2007, Comprehensive, Premium Video Edition (New Perspectives (Course Technology Paperback)) ReviewThis book was a text book for an Excel course I took through a local community college. I've been using Excel for 16 years, learning on a "piecemeal" basis. I thought I knew it all, but this book helped me discover features I never knew were there. It really is comprehensive. And, the hands-on nature of the projects in each chapter has left me retaining all of that useful knowledge now weeks after the class has ended.
I just took and passed (97.5%) the Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel 2010 exam, and couldn't have done it without this book. Even though the book is based on the 2007 version, Microsoft didn't make many sweeping changes with the 2010 update, so this book still holds up. I'd suggest buyers of this book hunt down some web tutorials regarding spark lines, named ranges, and smart art. Otherwise, everything else on the exam is covered.
Also, just FYI, skip the "premium video" version of the book and get the plain text.
