Teach Yourself Powerpoint 2002 ReviewThis PowerPoint 2002 book is part of a Teach Yourself Series, which provides step by step information for its readers. It is filled with informative, descriptive, and helpful steps and pictures to help you create an awesome PowerPoint presentation.
There are fourteen chapters in this 150 page book.
*The first chapter helps you get started with the PowerPoint 2002 software by informing you of the minimum requirements necessary to run the program, utilizing the menu and office assistant, and the meaning of the PowerPoint icons.
*The second chapter provides the reader with the basic skills needed for PowerPoint such as creating a new presentation, adding slides, and saving, opening, and closing your presentation.
*Chapter three is all about working with the slides in your slide show such as adding/deleting a slide, changing bullet and numbering points, and changing the slide design or layout.
*The fourth chapter was a little difficult because it mainly dealt with drawing, grouping/ungrouping autoshapes, and rotating and layering objects.
*The fifth chapter explains how to create a chart in PowerPoint, how to enter data, and the different chart types and objects.
*Chapter six helps the reader create organization charts and diagrams. It goes in to great detail about how to change the layouts, formats, and animation on the organization charts and also the different types of diagrams you can create.
*The seventh chapter discusses tables, clip art, and sound. This chapter tells the reader how to make and format a table, how to select a clip art/picture that best suits what you are talking about in your slide, and also how to find and add a sound effect to your slide show.
*The eighth chapter explains the Slide Master, its purpose, how it works, and when it's effective to use.
*Chapter nine was all about the preparation process for your slide show. It explains to the reader how to set up a timer so that the slides will change on their own, how to create and use speaker notes for presentations, how to add animation to your presentation, and finally how to set up the actual show for viewing.
*The tenth chapter discusses how to give a slide show presentation by explaining to the reader how to go back to another slide during your show and also how to "pause" your show while explaining something about what you are presenting.
*Chapter eleven goes through how to print your presentation and all the different ways you can print it out, such as, printing it by individual slides or perhaps six per page, also how to print in color, grey scale, or simply black and white.
*The twelfth chapter discusses jumps and links and explains the action buttons and what they are used for, how to combine slides for a different presentation, and also how to insert a hyperlink into your presentation.
*The thirteenth chapter tells you everything you need to know about the PowerPoint toolbars; how to show and add toolbars, adding and removing tools on the toolbar, and even how to create your own toolbar!
*The final chapter in the book covers the use of PowerPoint with other applications, such as linking and embedding data, copy and pasting information from Excel and Access, and also how to create a PowerPoint presentation from a Word document.
I recommend this book to anyone who needs to make a great presentation for something because it provides the reader with easy-to-understand steps on how to do EVERYTHING in the PowerPoint program, and it even goes the extra mile by showing you how to use the shortcut method to achieve the same thing. This book is helpful for everyone, not only the people who do not know anything about the PowerPoint program.
This informative book also presents the reader with accurate pictures of what the actual screen looks like when ever you do something or click on an icon or drop down menu so it is really simple to follow.Teach Yourself Powerpoint 2002 Overview
