Adobe Captivate 5: The Essentials (for Windows & Macintosh) ReviewI originally purchased Adobe Captivate 3: The Essentials. I only ordered that as an "in case it helps" purchase with another book I expected much more from. As it turned out, the IconLogic book was fantastic and the other one not so much. Even though I was way past basic stage, the book filled in a lot of gaps and showed me some better ways to do some things than how I'd worked it out, and did show me some things I hadn't found on my own.So when I upgraded from Captivate 3 to Captivate 5 and had a heart attack at the new totally alien (at least to me) interface, I knew it was time for Kevin's help once again. I didn't hesitate to order The Essentials for Captivate 5 and am working through it. It is written in the same easily accessible style as the Captivate 3 book, saving me a lot of time and mental effort as I avoid having to bother working things out for myself.
I recommend working through the entire book in the order in which it's presented, as it is written as an actual course. Even re-visiting techniques you already know is useful, as it strengthens your existing knowledge base and makes sure you're building on a solid foundation.
